Dear Delegates,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Cathedral International Model United Nations, 2017.

The Social Cultural and Humanitarian Committee, also known as SOCHUM, is the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly and deals with issues relating to social and humanitarian affairs and human rights issues that affect people around the world. This committee gives you insight into all the inhumane practices and social injustice that takes place in the world today.

I, Punya Sethi will be chairing SOCHUM in this year’s edition of CIMUN. I am currently in the IB 1 and wish to pursue cinematography in the near future and I have always had a passion for MUN’ing.

I -along with my vice-chair ,Devansh Shah, who happens to be the youngest EB member- am eager and excited to witness the kind of debate you, the delegates, will be bringing to committee. I have always had a side of my heart reserved for MUNs, hence being able to chair such an important GA assembly will be a great pleasure. If you have any queries or need any help, please feel free to contact us.

À bientôt!

Punya Sethi
